Award recipient of the VH1 Save the Music Foundation Grant in 2004. The grant awarded
$25,000 in band instruments to implement an elementary school band program.
Member of School Leadership Council and PBIS team
Received a laptop computer through the DonorsChoose.org program. The laptop computer will
increase the level of student achievement by allowing me the opportunity to deliver more efficient
and rigorous instruction.

Through my teaching and mentoring, several of my students have held chairs in the WTSBOA
Blue Band, WTSBOA Wind Ensemble, Tennessee All-State Band, Tennessee Governor’s School
for the Arts, The University of Memphis Honor Band, and superior ratings in the WTSBOA Solo
and Ensemble Festival.
Many of my students have also developed their skills under my instruction to earn band and
music scholarships at the collegiate level at various institutions of higher learning.
