Recently, the students are not able to watch movies in our English class, because sometimes they distract us from what it is the real purpose to watch them. We should be able to watch movies because we learn to pronounce new words, to learn better the language and also to learn how to use correctly some words. Some people think that watching movies is not very effective. But a lot of people I’ve asked learned English or another language by watching movies or TV shows. It is effective, because they are another alternative for teaching. According to many students, watching movies helps them to understand better the topic and the language. I know we shouldn’t watch movies with offensive language or explicit content, but we can also watch documentaries or movies that talk about an interesting and useful topic. I’m not asking to watch movies everyday, but it would be nice to watch one once a while. It’s another way to learn, it helps to retain the information more easily because is a more graphic way to do it. In conclusion, watching movies might be a technique a little out of the study program, but provides the students another fun way to learn and understand a specific topic or language.
