The Seneca Falls Convention was the first women's rights convention in the United States, held in 1848 in Seneca Falls, New York. It was organized by women involved in abolition and temperance movements and brought attention to the unequal treatment of women. Around 300 women and 40 men attended over two days. The convention played a major role in the women's rights movement in the US by establishing important issues addressed before, during, and after the event.
