SUMMARY
 Internet of things is the coming together of internet and physical devices
in a network of unlimited possibilities using microcontrollers ,Arduino and
raspberry pilot allows for physical devices to wirelessly communicate over
networks which has led to a growing number of applications for lot of
devices…..
 The internet of things describes the network of physical object
_”things”_that are embedded with sensors, software, and other
technologies for the purpose of connecting and exchanging data with
other dwvices and systems over the internet……
INTRODUCTION
 The internet of things is a system of interrelated computing devices
mechanical and digital machines ,objects , animals or people that are
provided with unique identifiers and ability to transfer data over a network
without requiring human –to-human or human-to-computer interaction….
IoT is network of interconnected computing devices which are embedded
in everyday objects enabling them to send and receive data .. Over 9billion
‘things ,(physical objects) are currently connected to the internet , as of
now ,in the near future ,this number is expected to rise to a whopping 20
billion ….
WHAT IS INTERNET OF THINGS ?
 The loT brings internet connectivity ,data processing and analytics to the world of
physical objects .For consumers, this means interacting with global informations network
without the intermediary of a keyboard and screen (Alexa, for example) In enterprise
settings. IoT can bring the same efficiencies to manufacturing procdsses and distridution
systems that the internet has long delivered to knowledge work.Billions of embedded
internet-enabled sensons worldwide provide an incredibly rich set of data that
companies can use to improve the safety of their operations.track assets and reduce
manual processes .
 Data form machines can be used to predict whether equipment will break down. giving
manufacturers advance warning to prevent long stretches of downtime. Researchers can
also use IoT devises to gather data about customer perfernces and behavior. Thought
that can have serious implications for privacy and security.
HISTORY
 The term ‘internet of things ‘ was coined in 1999 by the computer scientist
KEVIN ASHTON. Whil working at procter and gamble ,Ashton proposed
putting radio frequency indentification (RFLD)chips on products to track
them through a supply chain..
 KEVIN ASHTON-”FATHER OF IoT”
SO you stuff like the smart wine bottle ,the
smart bikini ,and the smart water bottle this stuff is not the internet of things
_this stuff is all rubbish.
He believed IoT could be used to make source macro decisions on resource
utilitization ….’’Informations is a grate way to reduce waste and increase
efficiency and that’s really waste and increase efficiency and that’s really what
the internet of things provides”
FEW APPLICATIONS OF IoT
 A combination of sensore in different capacities throughout the city for various
tasks such as managing the traffic , handiling waste management optimizating
streetlights saving water monitoring energy expenditure creating smat
buildings ….

 Medical and Healthcare systems
 Media
 Environmental monitoring
 Infrastructure management
 Transportation
 Better quality of life for elderly
TECHNOLOGICAL CHALLENGES OF IoT
AT present iot is faced with many challenges, such as
• Scalability
• Technological standardization
• Inter operability
• Discovary
• Software complexity
• Data volumes and interpretation
• Power Supply
• Fault tolerance
CONTROVERSIES OF IoT
 Scholars and social observers pessimists have doubts the promises of the
ubiquitous computing revolution ,in the areas as:
 Privacy
 Security
 Autonomy and control
 Social control
 Political manipulation
 Design
 Environmental impact
 Influences human moral decision making
CONCLUSION
Along with an exponential growth in connected devices. Each thing in IoT
communicates packets of data that require reliable connectivity, storage, and
security with IoT an organizations is challenged with managing ,monitoring , and
securing immense volumes of data and connections from dispersed devices…..
The IoT can assist in the integration of communications , control, and information
processing acrpss various transportation system . Application of the IoT extends to
all aspects of transportation system . (i.e the vehicle , the infrastructure, and the
driver or user)
