HOW DO WE MAKE THE PRESENT PERFECT?
I HAVE BEEN YOU PLAYED HE SHE HAS SEEN IT VISITED WE THOUGHT YOU HAVE DONE THEY
Have + participle Has
WHEN DO WE USE IT?
1. WHEN SOMETHING HAS HAPPENED BUT … WHEN? IT IS NOT IMPORTANT ex. I have met John I have eaten an apple I have seen a good film
2. WHEN SOMETHING HAS HAPPENED recently, lately, so far I have met John recently I have eaten three apples so far I have seen a good film lately
3. WHEN SOMETHING HAS HAPPENED already, not...yet, never, always I have already seen that film I haven't read that book yet I have never liked him I have always known it
4. WHEN SOMETHING HAS HAPPENED today, this morning, this month, this year... ( period of time which is not over yet) I have met John today I have done my homework this morning I have not studied hard this month I have been to England this year
BUT I have met John this morning I met John this morning Can you explain the difference?
GENERALLY SPEAKING THE PRESENT PERFECT IS ALWAYS CONNECTED TO THE PRESENT
AND SO, WE USE IT ALSO TO TALK ABOUT THE DURATION OF AN ACTION
HOW LONG HAVE YOU KNOWN HIM? I HAVE KNOWN HIM FOR A VERY LONG TIME HOW LONG HAVE YOU HAD YOUR MOBILE? I HAVE HAD IT FOR TWO YEARS
Now some practice! Look at the following pictures, complete the questions, answer them then write some more details about each situation. Use at least 20 words for each pic.
