CONTENTS
A quantum computer is a machine that
performs calculations based on the
laws of quantum mechanics, With
the help of behavior of fundamental
particles (photon) at the sub-atomic
level. A Quantum is a smallest possible
discrete unit of any physical property
WHAT IS QUANTUM COMPUTER
ï€Ș 1982 - Feynman proposed the idea of creating machines
based on the laws of quantum mechanics instead of the laws of
classical physics.
ï€Ș 1985 - David Deutsch developed the quantum Turing
machine, showing that quantum circuits are universal.
ï€Ș 1994 - Peter Shor came up with a quantum algorithm to
factor very large numbers in polynomial time.
ï€Ș 1997 - LovGrover develops a quantum search algorithm
HISTORY OF DEVELOPMENT
A quantum computer works with particles that can be in
superposition. Rather than representing bits such
particles would represent qubits, which can take on the
value 0, or 1, or both simultaneously.
HOW QUANTUM COMPUTERS WORKS?
ï€Ș A qubit is a quantum bit. As a bit is the basic unit of
information in a classical computer, a qubit is the basic
unit of information in a quantum computer.
A physical implementation of a
Qubit could use the two energy levels
of an atom. An excited representing |1>
and a ground state representing |0>.
So these qubits are use as a basic units
WHAT IS QUBITS ?
DIFERENCE BETWEEN DIGITAL AND
QUANTUM COMPUTERS
DECOHERENCE:
ï€Ș The biggest problem. States that if a coherent
(superposed) state interacts with the environment, it
falls into a classical state without superposition.
ï€Ș So quantum computer to work with superposed
states, it has to be completely isolated from the rest
of the universe (not observing the state, not
measuring it..)
The problem face with quantum
computers
ADVANTAGES OF QUANTUM
COMPUTERS
DISADVANTAGES OF QUANTUM
COMPUTERS
ï€Ș Artificial intelligence
A primary application for quantum computing is artificial intelligence (AI).
AI is based on the principle of learning from experience, becoming more
accurate as feedback is given, until the computer program appears to
exhibit “intelligence.”
This feedback is based on calculating the probabilities for many possible
choices, and so AI is an ideal candidate for quantum computation.
ï€Ș Weather Forecasting
Director of engineering at Google Hartmut Neven also noted that quantum
computers could help build better climate models that could give us more
insight into how humans are influencing the environment.
APPLICATIONS OF QUANTUM
COMPUTERS
ï€Ș Financial Model
Quantum computing help the investors or analyst to get
better knowledge of market fluctuation
ï€Ș Cyber Security
Various techniques to combat cyber security threats can be developed
using some of the quantum machine learning approaches mentioned
above to recognize the threats earlier and mitigate the damage that they
may do.
ï€Ș Drug Design
Due to faulty simulation or high cost many drugs are not design but by
the use of quantum simulation technique it is possible to design of
such drugs very easily
ï€Ș Quantum computer has more to offer.
ï€Ș Advantages outweighs disadvantages.
ï€Ș Wide range of applications.
ï€Ș If we built this computer then it would
revolutionized our human society
CONCLUSION
THANK YOU
