Business Scenario Camden Manufacturing is a very busy successful company that has experienced continual growth with almost 100 people in the office. About 4 years ago a directive came from management to start tracking work time, vacation, overtime, illness and project hours. As time progressed the administrative staff realized that more and more time was required to compile useful reports. Application Start Screen When the application is started this screen shows the current user name, function and all objects owned by the user. Dbl-clicking on an object allows users to view, edit or workflow objects.

Part Attributes Each manufacturing company is unique and has their own legacy systems. Each of these systems requires a set of attributes for each part. Business rules can be enforced and checks put in place for all your part types.

ECN Bill of Material Detail The BOM can be entered manually, extracted from your CAD system, or an earlier revision can be copied from your MRP system and used as a base for the new revision.

Database Solutions - Help Desk Application Double clicking on a task in the main screen pops up the Edit Issue screen. The creator of this issue can edit any field. Any other user can add a comment which can optionally be e-mailed to the creator.

The defined series of tasks within an organization to produce a final outcome. Sophisticated workgroup computing applications allow you to define different workflows for different types of jobs. So, for example, in an Engineering setting, an ECN might be automatically routed from Engineering to Manufacturing to approve for production. At each stage in the workflow, one individual or group is responsible for a specific task. Once the task is complete, the workflow software ensures that the individuals responsible for the next task are notified and receive the data they need to execute their stage of the process.
