 Principles of operations.
 Difference between classical computer &
quantum computer.
 Applications of Quantum Computer.
What is Quantum ?
 Quantum is the Latin word for amount and in modern
understanding means the smallest possible discrete unit of any
physical property such as energy or matter.
 In physics a quantum is the minimum amount of any physical
entity involved in the interaction.
 For Ex: a photon is single quantum of light or any other form of
electromagnetic radiation.
What are Quantum Computer ?
 A quantum computer is any device for which
computation that makes direct use of distinctively
quantum mechanical phenomena.
 The phenomena's which are used in quantum
computers are known as Superposition and
entanglement.
 These two phenomena’s are used to perform
various operations on the data.
What are Qubits ?
 The Qbits are also called as quantum bits.
 In quantum computing the qubit is the basic
unit of quantum information.
 A qubit is two-state quantum mechanical
system, one of the simplest quantum system
displaying the peculiarity of quantum
mechanics.
Principle of Operations
 “The basic principle of quantum computation is that the
quantum properties can be used to represent structure and the
data, and that quantum mechanism can be devised and built to
perform operation with this data.”
 Quantum computers are different from other computers such as
super computer and traditional computer.
 If large scale quantum computers can be built they will be able
to solve certain problems exponentially faster than any other
computer.
Continue…
 The power of quantum computers integer factorization is
believed to be computationally infeasible with an ordinary
computer for large integers that are the products of only few
prime numbers.
 The field of quantum computing is actually a sub field of
quantum information of science which includes quantum
cryptography and quantum communication.

It works on the principle of if, this,
then, that and both.
It cannot perform the mathematical
operation after a certain limit.
It can perform all the types
mathematical operations.
It can perform the single operation at
a time.
It can perform the multiple operation
at a time.
The complex molecules cannot be
