This document discusses bamboo energy plantations in India. It outlines that bamboo can yield 40 tons per acre per year and details Growmore Biotech's research on selecting the best bamboo species, clones, propagation methods, and high-density plantation practices using drip irrigation and fertigation to maximize biomass yields. Examples are provided of bamboo plantations in India and South Africa generating sufficient biomass for electricity production. Bamboo is also shown to be a feasible feedstock for ethanol production through anaerobic digestion. The conclusion advocates for establishing captive energy plantations to provide sustainable and economic biomass sources.
