 Symbian OS from Symbian Ltd. [2]
 Closed Source & Proprietary.
 First released version was in 1997.
 Such as Nokia 808 PureView, Samsung SGH-i400
and so on.

 BlackBerry OS
About 120,000 available apps according to CNET till
May, 2013. [4]
 Symbian OS
About 110,000 available apps according to an article by
Mark till June 2012.[3]

Advantages & Disadvantages of BlackBerry OS
Advantages
 Designed for Business Purpose uses. [10]
 It offers free BBM(BlackBerry Messenger) service.
Disadvantages
 Only a few number of apps are available in market for
Blackberry OS.
 BlackBerry devices are Costly

Advantages & Disadvantages of Symbian OS
Advantages
 Symbian OS is easy to Configure on devices. [11]
 It offers fully Multitasking feature.
 It has lots of built-in features.
 Simple than other mobile OS. So It’s easier to use.
 Symbian OS based Smartphones are available in reasonable prices.
Disadvantages
 Not so much Apps are available.
 Apps are varying for OS versions. For example- an Apps developed for Symbian
OS version S60v2 can not be install/run into Symbian OS version S60v3.
 Not much Stable. Reboot automatically while there are many apps running on
background.

Recently launched & Upcoming Mobile OSs
 There are several new Mobile OS platforms are launched and
some of these are still in development State. Such as –
 Firefox OS (already launched & produced Smartphone)
 UbuntuTouch,
 Sailfish OS,
 Tizen.
 We’ve discussed here about Firefox OS and Ubuntu
Touch.

 Short Overview
 Developed by Mozilla[8]
 Previous Project name was – Boot to Gecko
 Linux based Open-Source OS
 Initial released inApril 23, 2013
 Latest stable version is 1.0.1, released in July 2, 2013
 ZTE Open is the commercially launched Smartphone
 Features of Firefox OS

About Ubuntu Touch
 Short Overview
 Developed by Canonical[9]
 Linux based Open-Source OS
 Based onAndroid but not used Java anywhere
 Still in Development State
 Initial released for Developer Review in July 2, 2013
 Ubuntu Edge might be the 1st Smartphone, announced by
Canonical
 Features of UbuntuTouch

 Security problem on apps

Conclusion
 Why this research is necessary?
-This is theTime ofTechnology, everybody is got a smart
device.
- Everybody needs a device, which one to take?
-Take a academy course, study through smart device,
which one is better?
- Play a game, which OS’s gives it for free?
-Which OS is for your type( varying profession/ age )?
-A vast employment for web developers, graphics
designers, software developers
