The Planets of thE Solar System
Solar System-
• Planets of solar system is classified into
two groups: the Terrestrial and Jovian.
The four planets that closest to the sun
are Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars Are
called terrestrial.The Jovian Planets are
Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and the Neptune.
Terrestrial Planets
Mercury
• Is the planet closest to the sun. It can only
take 88 earth day to make Revolution.
• Its day temperature is 315 degree celcius Ang
night temperature iS -149 degree celcius.
• Its only three times for each Revolution
around the sun.
Venus
• Is the brightest planet in solar
system that’s why it called “The
Evening Star”
• Venus don’t experience any
season because of it’s limited
axeal tilt of 3 degrees
Earth
• Is the third planet from the sun
and the only astronomical object
known to harbor life.
• It formed 45 billon ago and
orbits around the sun in 365.26
days, a period of Earth’s year.
• Earth is also known as “The Blue
Marble”
Mars
• Is the second- smallest planet in
solar System.
• Also known as the Red planet
because the iron oxide prevelent
on it’s surface give it reddish
appearance to the naked eye.
• Its temperature can down into -
195°c and high into 70°c.
Jovian planets
Jupiter
• s the largest planet in solar system with a
mass of 1000 that of the sun.
• It have more than 12 moons Called Europa,
Love, Amalthea, Adrastea, The be, Metis,
Valetundo, humalia,Carme, and itc.
• The most famous feature of Jupiter is the
great red spot.
Saturn
• Is the second giant planet with an
average radius about nine times of
earth and there are more than 10
moon in Saturn.
• And the one rotation of earth takes 24
hour but in Saturn it just take 10.
Uranus
• It’s similar in composition to
Neptune and both have builk
chemical composition which
deffer from that of the larger
gas Giants Jupiter and Saturn.
Neptune
• Neptune is 17 times the mass of
earth slightly, more massive
than-twin Uranus .
• It orbit the sun once in every
168.8 years at the average
distance of 4.5 billon km.
Dwarf planets
• Is celestial body Resembling
A small planet but lacking
certain technical Criteria that
are required for it to be
Classed such as such.
• There are five planets in
solar system named: Ceres,
Pluto, Haumea, Makemake,
and Eres.
Ceres
• Is the largest object in the
Asteriod Belt that lies between
the orbit of Mars and Jupiter,
slightly closer to Mars’s orbit.
• With diameter of 495 km, Ceres
is both the largest of asteroid
and the only planet in Neptune
orbit
Pluto
• Is a drawrf planet in the kuiper belt,
a ring of bodies beyond Neptune.
• It was the first kuiper belt object to
be discovered and is the largest
known as PLUTOID.
• It discover by Clydein Tombaugh In
1930 and consider to be the ninth
planet of the solar system
Haumea
• Planet located beyond
Neptune orbit. It was
discovered by I. 2004 by a
team headed by Mike Brown
of Calteach at Palomar o
serbatory in US and
independently in 2005.
Makemake
• A dwarf plane perhaps the
second largest kuiper belt in
the classical population with
diameter approximately two-
third that or Pluto .
• It is also known as Satillite
S/2005 .1
Eris
• Is the most Massuve and second largest
dwarf planet Known in the solar system.
• Eris discovered in January 2015 by a
Palomar observatory based team lead
by Mike Brown and Discovery was
verified later that year.
• September that year Eris named.
• It orbits the sun in 558 year.
New Planets
•There are two new planets in the solar system called
“super Planets”.
•This planets is larger than earth but smaller than
Neptune.
•It we’re discovered using artificial intelligence like
space telescope and neural networks.
K2-293 b
•Is about 2.5 times big
around as earth .
•It orbits a star about
1300 light years away.
•It complete one orbit
in13.1day.
•It was announce in 2019
K2-294 b
•It is about 1.7 time big
around as earth.
•Orbit a star over 1200 light
years distance.
