Data Analytics on Mainframe using IBM Biginisights IBM Center of Excellence (Technology Excellence Group), TCS Chennai Duration : May 2013 to December 2014 Platform : Red hat linux Tools & Language : BigInsights v2.1,Java 1.6, AQL, DB2 V10, Hadoop 1.1, SQOOP 1.4, PIG 0.10, BigSheets. Text Analytics involves in processing both structured and unstructured data from various sources and producing output in the form of pie charts. Using BigInsights, Structured data from Mainframe DB2 can be imported to HDFS using Sqoop. A java program is coded along with Annotation Query Language (AQL) to process unstructured data that has to be published in BigInsights console in defined format. The analysis of both structured and unstructured data are processed using Pig script and output can be viewed in the form of pie charts. Responsibilities: Involved in design and architecture of the application. Explored all important components in BigInsights. Involved in importing structured data from DB2 to HDFS using DB Import. Written PIG script to process both structured and unstructured data. Involved in generating analyzed output in the form of pie charts using BigSheets. Reporting status of project/defect to manager on daily basis. Achievements: It is an enhanced approach of Data Analytics on Mainframe using Apache Hadoop. 4. Data Analytics on Mainframe using Apache Hadoop IBM Center of Excellence (Technology Excellence Group), TCS Chennai Duration : May 2013 to June 2014 Platform : Red hat linux Tools & Language : BigInsights, Hadoop,Pig script The Db2 z/OS data was extracted and transported to HDFS using Sqoop. The unstructured (PDF) data was processed by Text Analytic Tool (INX -TCS Chennai), and various unbank patterns were generated in a CSV format. This format was uploaded to HDFS. Thus, both Structured and Unstructured data were blended into a single HDFS structure. The PIG scripts that used HDFS data were developed to produce useful information depicting market trend. - 4. 6. Production Database Management( DB2) Morgan Stanley & Co ,TCS Chennai Duration : Sep 2012 to Jan 2013 Environment : DB2, UNIX, PERL,shell. The team is responsible for managing an enormous DB2 warehouse built on unix machine. The warehouse consists of 10 logical servers which provide data for analysis and reporting on a regular basis. The data is populated to these servers on a daily basis with the help of autosys jobs running perl scripts. Responsibilities: Implementation of automated checks on DB2 servers by means of perl script Handling user request and queries. Ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
