Chandrayaan 3 is India's third lunar mission to soft land on the lunar south pole region in order to conduct scientific experiments studying the lunar geology, atmosphere, and environment. The mission was launched on July 14, 2023 and successfully landed the Vikram lander and Pragyan rover on the Moon's south pole on August 23, 2023, making India the first nation to soft land in that region. The lander and rover will conduct experiments over the next 14 days.
