A smart TV allows users to connect to the internet either through an Ethernet cable or built-in Wi-Fi. While a smart TV and internet TV are essentially the same, smart TVs offer more applications. Popular pre-installed apps include Skype, YouTube, and BBC iPlayer, and additional apps can be downloaded from the TV store. Skype allows free video and voice calls and can be used on smart TVs with an external camera and microphone.
