Each group has its own unique physical and chemical properties. Let's understand them one by one.
Physical Properties
1. Appearance
Metals: Shiny (lustrous). Example: gold, silver, copper.
Non-metals: Dull appearance (except iodine, which is shiny).
2. Hardness
Metals: Generally hard. Example: iron.
Non-metals: Usually soft (except diamond, a form of carbon, which is very hard).
3. State
Metals: Mostly solids at room temperature (except mercury, which is a liquid).
Non-metals: Can be solids, liquids, or gases. Example: oxygen (gas), bromine (liquid), sulphur (solid).
4. Malleability
Metals: Can be hammered into thin sheets (malleable).
Non-metals: Not malleable. They break when hammered (brittle).
5. Ductility
Metals: Can be drawn into wires (ductile).
Non-metals: Not ductile.
6. Conductivity
Metals: Good conductors of heat and electricity.
Non-metals: Poor conductors (except graphite, which is a good conductor).

Chemical Properties
1. Reaction with Oxygen
Metals react with oxygen to form metal oxides.

2. Reaction with Water
Metals:
Some react vigorously (e.g., sodium).

Metals react with acids to produce salt and hydrogen gas.

- 10. LOGIN PAGE : In computer security ,logging in , is a process by which an individual gains access to a computer system by identifying and authenticating themselves. The user credentials are typically some form of “user name” and a matching “password”,and these credentials themselves are sometimes reffered to as login. When access is no longer needed ,the user can logout. Login module is used to check whether the user is an authorized person to use the system or not. Here the user will be asked to give :- User name Password When the user name and password matches correctly it retrieves the data stored in the file. If there is a case that user has forgotten his user name or password then in order to overcome this drawback we have used a unix command called “grep”. The different types of users are 1.Admin 2.Students User accounts – used by the student to interface with the software back-end.
- 11. GENERATION OF FEE RECIEPT In the fee payment system ,we have to enter the name and USN of the student and it then we generate the fee payment receipt. This reduces the work task and it is easy to maintain records for a longer time. With the help of this fee calculations can be done. CONCLUSION : From this system we can conclude that it provides a better fee management system. This can be used in any college based on requirements.
