Types of faults
• Shunt Fault
• A disturbance to the cable system (eg: anchor hit,
fishing trawler) that cause the damaged to the cable
insulation and exposed the copper section that
carries electricity being short circuit to the sea water.
The cable system continues to carry traffic.
