- 26. © Microsoft Corporation Linux migration customer momentum with SUSE Not only did the team meet the deadline, but they were able to complete the migration of their SAP environment running on Windows and SUSE Linux seamlessly, without any downtime or impact to business users. And, after the migration, tasks that had taken weeks or months in the past now took just minutes. The full migration encompassed 700 servers and 350 applications, 1.6 petabytes of data, including 8 terabytes for the main SAP database. Carlsberg used SAP heterogeneous migration tools and Azure Site Recovery for migration, and it used standard SAP HANA database replication from existing nodes to SAP HANA Large Instances in Azure running SUSE Linux Enterprise Server. “With optimized images of SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications available directly on Microsoft Azure, we can spin up a virtual SAP S/4HANA environment in just 30 minutes and can quickly start working with clients to solve their business challenges.” HINRICH MIELKE | SAP DIRECTOR | ALEGRI INTERNATIONAL GROUP
