Suresh Babu2 Abstract Destiny of a nation is shaped in the classrooms, the basic responsibility of a teacher is to shape and mold the lives of the children but if teachers continuing to teach today's students as they taught yesterday's they certainly ruin their future and these future generations will judge their teachers by not what they say but what they do. Good Teachers know how to bring out the best in their students. In the recent educational practices even with using those Technologies in classrooms have keep proving that there is a need for change because technology will never replace great teachers, but technology in the hands of great teachers is transformational. This paper insist on Teaching is more than imparting knowledge, it is inspiring change and Learning is more than absorbing facts it is acquiring understanding. Keywords: Constructivism Innovative, ICT, Technology based teaching, Un-employability, Unemployment Rationale Background If growing unemployment in teacher education is seen as one side of the coin, then the other would have to been un-employability. Un-employability is the state of not being fit for employment even if the candidate is qualified for a teacher. In our state of Tamil Nadu alone there are more than 500 Teacher Training institutes, approximately 50,000 trained teachers are passing out every year, out of which only a small percentage can be employed directly as school teachers. As quoted by our late former President of India, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, "It is not unemployment which is a major problem; it is the question of 'un-employability' which is a bigger crisis", this study investigates about the issue. Objectives of the study • To examine the current status of teaching-learning culture in India • To investigate whether the teacher training institutes are providing adequate training to face the challenges of teaching-learning culture in India in the present scenario.

Problem statement: Are the teacher training institutes are providing the relevant skills for their Student Teachers. Hypothesis In most of the institutions just getting the degree is the main goal of the student teachers they are not much bothering about equipping themselves with the required skills that has to be acquired during their course of study. Traditional practices “Indian education framework need to change completely”-Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. This is the wish and dream of every Indian citizen. Our education system needs serious changes and reforms. Teachers are the backbone of the educational system, if they are ready to change their pedagogical methods and try to use innovative methods in the teaching and learning process. Then we can bring out the changes and reform in our education system. The traditional ways of teaching just fosters memorizing facts and emphasize theoretical knowledge. Some basic theoretical knowledge is required but we focus mainly on theoretical knowledge ignoring the hands on experience. We need to reform and shift our educational system towards an education which connects the knowledge with real life situations. So we are here to focus on how to apply the education for the welfare of the individual, the society and to the country as a whole.

Now we live in a digital world, and the children are digital natives. If universities continue to promote and use the traditional canon of teacher training, schools and teachers will become obsolete. Universities must provide teacher training using the latest technology. In the 21st century technology will reach beyond the current confines of the universe. The charge of universities is to expose, prompt, stretch, and provide emerging teachers with the most advanced resources to be better, more efficient teachers. Teachers to Facilitators In the present scenario, just the knowledge provided by the teacher in the classroom is not enough to improve the standards of the students to face the challenges globally. Vast information are available in the libraries, internet websites, blogs, social media, newsletters, journals, magazines etc. Thus the teacher’s role has a necessity to shift from information providers to facilitators of learning. A facilitator is one who develops the thinking and learning capacity of his student. Teachers are never a problem-solver instead they make the students to open-up the hidden threads of natural behavior by focusing on cause-effect relationship. Needof ICT for Teachers ICT in teacher education is essential and it must be availed for successful technology integration and to provide guidelines for the development of strategic planning process. ICT in teacher education is used for Updating information Developing teaching competencies becoming acquainted with the latest techniques/methods of teaching. Sharing instructional materials. Developing research competencies. Enriching teacher education curriculum. Research and development in teacher education.

Constructivism in teaching One of the important skill to be acquired by the emerging teachers is to know how to apply constructivist way of teaching-learning process. Constructivism is the teaching philosophy based on the concept that learning is the result of ‘mental construction’ – students construct their own understanding by reflecting on their personal experiences, and by relating the new knowledge with what they already know. One of its main principles is that learning is search for meaning, therefore to be effective: a teacher must help the student in discovering his or her own meaning. The role of the teachers is to create experiences in which the students will participate that will lead to appropriate processing and knowledge acquisition. Teacher asks guiding questions and help students stay on-topic and help them reflect. Innovative Methods of Teaching: The future prospective teachers must learn to employ the innovative methods of teaching such as Multimedia learning process, Z to A approach, Role playing and Scenario Analysis based teaching: Multimedia learning process: The Teacher uses Multimedia to modify the contents of the material. It will help the teacher to present in a meaningful way, using different media elements. Z to A approach: This approach attempts to explain the application part of a particular concept first and then explains the effects of such applications. This type of approach will increase the learner’s interest and fosters active engagement of learners in their learning process. Role Playing and scenario Analysis Based Teaching: Science and engineering courses have practical but in support of these practical if students are given a scenario and other options to solve a particular issue, then the students are exposed to decision making in a given environment. It is necessary for a teacher to be flexible and adaptable in the modern age they must know how to roll with the punches and face challenges fearlessly • The second most quality needed is the desire to learn. Learning is always a lifelong process. Modern teachers must keep on updating their knowledge or else they will be obsolete. • The third quality needed by a teacher is having self confidence. To believe in their skills and themselves. Ready to face any challenges that appear before them. • The fourth quality is the ability to work in Teamwork, so that teacher can work with cooperation of the students and their parents and their colleagues. • The teacher must have the ability to turn negatives into positives. It’s a forward thinking attitude. In the present, the whole world has become a global village. Teachers must be able to show students how to both “connect and protect” in the digital age. They have to teach the students how to use technology safely. They need to bring up awareness about online dangers and help students understand and manage them. Conclusion The effective teachers should understand how important it is to connect with students with effective use of Technologies within the given framework. As a changing role of a facilitator, they have to support everyone to do their best thinking. To do this, the teachers should encourage full participation, promotes mutual understanding, and cultivates shared responsibility.
