Abstract
Release 8.0 for CA Unified Infrastructure Management (CA UIM) (formerly known as CA Nimsoft Monitor) has an enhanced HTML5 dashboard designer that provides a quick and intuitive way to design custom views for your management environments. With the ability to present near real time data via a great widget library, the dashboard designer provides a clean way to present performance and alarm information to your customers.
In this hands-on lab, CA UIM experts will share various tips and techniques for the designer—and you can then try your hand at a designing your own. You will come away ready to take your own CA UIM dashboards to the next level!

Data Sources:
Alarm: Shows the highest severity alarm
Dashboard For drill-down, shows the highest severity alarm in the linked dashboard
Metric: Displays metrics from monitored systems
Probe: To retrieve data directly from a probe
SLO/SLA: For displaying SLO/SLA compliance percent
SQL: Allows data to be retreiveddirectly from any database
QOS:
Parameters:
Variables allow dashboards to be parameterized so that a copied dashboard can be easily re-used in another, similar situation.
For example, a dashboard created for one department can be repurposed for use in a similar situation without recreating the dashboard. The dashboard designer need only change the values assigned to parameters to change the context of the dashboard.
