Text mode Linux Installation Part 01

- 2. There are different sources from which you can install Linux. These are as below Standard inastallation/ CD-ROM or removable media installation(through a cd or dvd of linux) Network Installation(Before installing you must have the proper physical network connection to the server from where you want to install the linux. Here you as an linux administrator boot into a limited version and additional componets will be downloaded from the server over network during the installation process.) Disk imaging installation(This installation normally helps to install multiple systems with same type of configuration). Author :- Subhasis Nayak.
- 3. Here we will choose the standard installation.Now, we use a bootable CD/DVD to do the installation. Once you put your Linux cd/dvd into the cd/dvd tray restart your system. After restart, if your 1 st boot device is cd/dvd then it will boot from Linux cd/dvd else you have to change that. Once you have done your linux installation will start. Just go to the next slide to start installation process. Author :- Subhasis Nayak.

- 5. After typing it will look like this. Hit <enter> key Author :- Subhasis Nayak.
- 6. DVD/ CD is starting the 1 st booting process from your drive Author :- Subhasis Nayak. In this screen CD/DVD starts the booting process
- 7. Here before installing the OS from your media, installer asks you to check the your media for accuracy. You mat check it. It will test your cd/dvd for any errors. I know my dvd id perfect so i am going choose <skip> on the next slide. Author :- Subhasis Nayak. Read it carefully
- 8. As i told you i choose <skip> with help of <tab> key and <space > key Author :- Subhasis Nayak.
- 9. Now our linux anaconda installer starts to install LInux Author :- Subhasis Nayak.
- 10. HI! Friends our anaconda installer is ready to install Linux. It welcomes you to install Linux.Next slide i will hit <enter> key. Now i will hit <enter> key to start installation process. Author :- Subhasis Nayak.
