- 2. Where are we? 538 BC – Cyrus the Great sends Zerubbabel and Joshua the High Priest to rebuild the temple. (Ezra 1-6) 520 BC – The Samaritans’ harassment delays the temple reconstruction. God raises up Zechariah and Haggai to encourage the people to finish. (Ezra 5) 515 BC – The temple is completed. 444 BC – Esther becomes Queen of Persia 432 BC – Nehemiah becomes Governor of Judah and rebuilds Jerusalem’s walls. 398 BC – Ezra restores teaching and worship in Jerusalem.

- 4. How is “the glory of the latter temple greater than the former?” This Kingdom cannot be shaken (Hebrews 12:26-29) The Church will not be removed or destroyed. A local church can be removed. (Rev. 2:5) An individual can have his or her name blotted out of the book of life. (Rev. 3:5) The Church has a better builder! Acts 2:47, 1 Peter 2:5 The Church has a better leader! Christ gave His all for His Church (Eph. 5:25-27) Christ’s power is limitless (Eph. 1:20-23, 3:20-21)
- 5. Hebrews 12 28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. 29 For our God is a consuming fire.
