This is a major difference from our competitors, and the traditional frame-based approach of SAN design. With the EqualLogic peer storage architecture, customers can buy one generation of hardware, expand with a second and third generation of arrays – all online, all within the same SAN, and then retire the older hardware as they see fit – all without disrupting applications. This can save customers significant amount of money in services costs that are normally required for forklift upgrades or data in-place migrations.Plus, no only can customers easily upgrade to the latest hardware online, they can get all of the latest software features at no extra cost, simply by maintaining their support agreements (which is a good idea anyway).
