GLEWS is a global early warning system aimed at addressing major animal diseases, particularly zoonoses, driven by global trends such as climate change, increased trade, and rising human populations. Launched in 2006 as a collaboration between FAO, OIE, and WHO, GLEWS enhances the sharing of outbreak information and fosters an integrated response to health risks at the human-animal-ecosystem interface. It aims to promote One Health goals by developing tools and standards for effective disease surveillance and risk assessment.
