The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the largest Arab country of the Middle East.  "The Land of the Two Holy Mosques" in reference to Meccaand Medina, the two holy places in Islam. The two mosques are Masjid al-Haram (in Mecca) and Masjid Al-Nabawi (in Medina). Saudi Arabia has the world's largest oil reserves and is the world's largest oil exporter. Oil accounts for more than 90% of exports and nearly 75% of government revenues…. . Saudi Arabia has been the world's most generous donor nation per capita, donating £49 billion in aid in the past three decades….. Land= 2,149,690 sq km

Saudi Arabia's command economy is petroleum-based; roughly 75% of budget revenues and 90% of export earnings come from the oil industry.  The oil industry comprises about 45% of Saudi Arabia's gross domestic product, compared with 40% from the private sector (see below).
