A wireless router connects devices to the internet and each other via Wi-Fi. It has a WAN port to connect to a modem, LAN ports to connect devices via ethernet, and broadcasts a Wi-Fi signal for wireless connectivity. To set up the router, you connect it to the modem, access its management console via a web browser to configure settings like the Wi-Fi name and password, assign client IP addresses via DHCP, and activate the wireless functionality.

What is a Wireless Router?
The heart of your home network is
your router.
A wireless router is a device that
performs the functions of a router
and also includes the functions of a
wireless access point.
It is used to provide access to the
Internet or a private computer

Getting Online
Turn off your modem
Connect that cable to the WAN or internet
port on your new router
Power on your modem (wait for a minute or
two)Power on your router (wait for a minute or
two)Now use another Ethernet cable to connect
the PC to your router's LAN port, and
Turn on your PC.

Accessing the Management Console
Enter the router's IP address, which will
look something like 192.168.0.1, into the
browser's address bar and press Enter.
Launch your browser; it doesn't matter
which one you use.
You will see the router's login screen
asking for the default administrator

Change the Router’s Default Password
Log in to the router's management
console and look for a heading System
Tools.Go to Password.
Enter the default password and then
enter the new password.
Then click Save/Apply.

Managing your IP Addresses with DHCP
Assign a range of IP addresses for the
DHCP server to use. Assuming your
router's IP address is 192.168.0.1 and you
wanted to assign 50 IP addresses to the
DHCP scope, you would set the Starting
IP address to 192.168.0.2 and the Ending
Log in to the router's management
console and look for a heading like LAN
Setup (or something similar).

Activating your Wi-Fi.
Go into the router's management console and
locate the section titledWireless Setup.
Next make sure the Channel is set to Auto and
leave the Mode in its default setting.
This brings us to the SSID. The SSID is the
name of your wireless network.
The final step is to set the encryption your Wi-
Fi network will use. There are a few choices
here. The only one you're interested in using

Reboot your Router
Go into the router's management console and
locate the section titled SystemTools.
Then click Reboot.

5. What is a Wireless Router? The heart of your home network is your router. A wireless router is a device that performs the functions of a router and also includes the functions of a wireless access point. It is used to provide access to the Internet or a private computer

9. Getting Online Turn off your modem Connect that cable to the WAN or internet port on your new router Power on your modem (wait for a minute or two)Power on your router (wait for a minute or two)Now use another Ethernet cable to connect the PC to your router's LAN port, and Turn on your PC.

10. Accessing the Management Console Enter the router's IP address, which will look something like 192.168.0.1, into the browser's address bar and press Enter. Launch your browser; it doesn't matter which one you use. You will see the router's login screen asking for the default administrator

11. Change the Router’s Default Password Log in to the router's management console and look for a heading System Tools.Go to Password. Enter the default password and then enter the new password. Then click Save/Apply.

12. Managing your IP Addresses with DHCP Assign a range of IP addresses for the DHCP server to use. This brings us to the SSID. The SSID is the name of your wireless network. The final step is to set the encryption your Wi- Fi network will use. There are a few choices here. Change the SSID to “TLE 10” and password to “1234sdnhs”STAGE 7 – Reboot the router.
