Traditional Quality Tools Vs New Quality Tools ??
CONTROL CHART
Control chart is used to determined the business processes are in a
state of control
The Control Chart is a graph that shows how the process changes
over time.
Analysis of the control chart indicates that the processes are stable
and there is a little variation and is under control then there are no
changes required for the process control parameter.

What is Check Sheet
This sheet helps in identifying all the possible errors
and has the flexibility to add more sources of error
based on practical experience. These are then used
for recording data about the errors, which is
eventually used for analyzing the operational issue.

Pareto Chart
• The Pareto chart is a quality improvement tool that is
based upon the Pareto principle, the principle that 80%
of an outcome comes from 20% of its inputs.
• Introduced by Vilfredo Pareto, an Italian engineer and
economist.
• It is basically a bar chart showing how much each cause
contributes to an outcome or effect. The length of each
bar represents the “cost” (in time, number, or money) of
each cause, and the bars are arranged longest to
shortest to visually emphasize the most significant or
principal causes.
Histogram
• A histogram is a graphical representation of data.
• It can offer a powerful analysis of our problems.
• Why use a histogram as a quality tool?
1. Displays data in an easy-to-interpret graphical manner
2.Shows frequency of occurrence of data values
3.Reveals the centering, variation and shape of the data
4.Illustrates the underlying distribution of the data
5.Enables future prediction of process performance
Flowchart
• A flowchart is a diagram which represents a workflow process, algorithm, or a step by step process
connected by arrows in different directions.
• These flowcharts are used for the representation of organizational structures, Login System, document
work process flow, billing transaction flow etc.
Cause and Effect diagram
• Cause-Effect is also known as Fish-bone diagram, was first n used by Dr. kaoru Ishikawa of the
university of Tokyo in 1943.Cause and Effect diageam can help in brainstroming to identify possible
causes of a problem and in sorting ideas into useful categories.
TQM Services in I.T Industry
Uses :-
 Help in Software testing
 It address requirement of information System.
DATA – PROCESSING ----OUTPUT
 Ensure information system is Flexible,Bug free and Easy to maintain with Changing need.
 Provide reliable information to the users
Some Example of TQM tools used in I.T Industry Are:-
ERP:-Enterprise resource planning.-It is Used to integrate planning, purchasing
inventory,sales,marketing,finance,human resource and more.
SAP:-It is used to assist companies with management of business areas like – finance, logistics
and human resource.
Python:-It is computer programming language used to build website, software, automate task
and conduct data analysis.
It was established in 1968 as part of the Tata
group of companies.
It has grown to be the largest software and management
consultancy organization in southern Asia.
TCS first implemented quality control procedures in the early 70s.
TCS introduced structured systems analysis and design processes in
1982
In 1992, TCS decided to adopt ISO 9000 as a quality norm
Between 19s TCS had to make more struggle for enhancement.
Figure. The reduction in rework. Each data point indicates the rework
effort as a percentage of the total effort, for one project.
In 1996 TCS decided to adopt the Carnegie Mellon University Software
Engineering Institute’s Software Capability Maturity Model ( C.M.M ).
It got much success in the software field after advancement of C.M.M.
The objective of achieving CMM Level 4 at TCS-Seepz required enhancing
the metrics program through statistical process control.
The SEPG created control charts to monitor schedule slippage, in-process
defects per component, and maintenance field errors.
The project teams and the SEPG used run charts to track review
effectiveness, measured as the percentage of defects detected in peer reviews
before testing.
After applying statistical control chart, company got much success in the
field of software and technology.
