Subject: Topic 2: Educational Technology as a Pedagogical Study Field
Student Data: Yusleidy Ruíz 1-736-892
The incorporation of technology in educational methods, continues to expand the teaching-
learning processes and in turn strengthens the different services used for education,
therefore technology by itself cannot have an effect on learning if it does not have a
methodological and theoretical approach that supports the teaching process.
Educational technology is used in the teaching-learning processes, promoting changes that
have an impact on the solution of the problems that currently exist in the country's education.
All the tools and languages used in educational technology must be related to the teaching
practice in the classroom so that a pedagogical paradigm is applied and there are
innovations in the teaching-learning processes. Educational technology allows interaction
between technological means, students and teachers, which facilitates and helps both the
teaching task and the student's learning.
Educational technology facilitates the understanding of program contents, illustrating the
subject with still or interactive images, as well as electronic presentations that allow
motivating students to be autonomous and build their knowledge.

Abstrac
The essay will be conducted to analyze the role of educational technology in teaching and
learning in the education sector.
Educational technology uses languages that facilitate its manipulation, which motivates
students to be innovative and autonomous in their learning. With the technological tools that
are applied in education, the teacher has to design new teaching and learning strategies so
that students are able to develop their reasoning skills for the use of information
technologies.
Development
Education has undergone a strong evolution reflected in the contents and orientations of the
programs, developing new didactic resources and educational technologies that have
currently benefited the students, where they acquire a greater protagonism, intervention and
control of the training process, making use of the resources and tools that best suit them.
The great technological advance has been distinguished, in great part in the formation; as it
is the development of the educational technology where its main uses and/or applications
are visualized in the telecommunications, the computer science and the audio-visual
technology.
Nowadays, the main purpose of the teacher is to develop the use of technology as a didactic
resource with the purpose of creating teaching-learning strategies; giving support to the
academic contents and fostering thinking skills and the development of computational skills
in the student; information technologies determine the management of information and
access to learning networks, representing another form of education that will allow
contributing to the knowledge society.
Indicating that information technologies with the various appropriate instrumental redesigns
promote the use of higher thinking skills and collaborative and communicative learning
environments. The evolution of ICT's transforms the different ways of teaching and learning.
The teacher should be updated with the pedagogical characteristics and functionalities of
the program to be implemented, using it as a tool to enrich teaching methods.
According to Leite Oliveira (2002), he believes that teacher training is essential for teachers
to assume their responsibility and leadership over the entire educational community,
considering the following competencies to be developed in TE: ability to awaken intellectual
curiosity in students; ability to generate debates; teaching to justify and defend ideas;
constructive approach to criticism; technological skills in the search for information; cognitive
skills, discerning the quality of information; collaboration skills with colleagues in information
search practices and for the development of creative materials
Educational technology will continue to advance over the years to provide better education
at all levels of education and develop critical thinking, technological skills, creativity and
learning in students who are the future generations of the world.
Information and communication technologies are tools that are making inroads in society,
education and families because for any reason we must use an electronic device whether
computer, cell phone, tablets to do work from home, provide a virtual class and at the same
time live with the family without the need to be away from home.
Educational technology is not limited to the use of digital devices or platforms; it also
encompasses the principles, theories and approaches that guide their implementation in
diverse contexts. This field studies how technological tools can facilitate learning, promoting
meaningful and personalized educational experiences. In an environment where
globalization and digitalization are protagonists, educational technology becomes an
indispensable resource to close access gaps, promote inclusion and ensure that education
is relevant and pertinent to the challenges of the 21st century.
One of the fundamental pillars of this field is the integration of strategies that empower the
student as the protagonist of his or her learning. Methods such as gamification, adaptive
learning and project-based learning are clear examples of how technology can transform
classrooms into dynamic and interactive spaces. In addition, educational technology
contributes to the development of competencies such as critical thinking, creativity and
collaboration, crucial skills to face the challenges of a changing world.
In conclusion, the benefit of the use of technology in education, expands the quality of the
educational process because it allows to pass the barriers of space and time where there is
greater communication and interaction between teacher and student; this due to bring
different sources of information where there is active participation in the construction of
knowledge, causing individuals to carry a process where a number of skills are developed
for their educational performance.
An infinite number of uses can be named for this type of benefits, but the most used that
technologies offer us in the educational field are: to promote collaborative learning, ease of
synchronous or asynchronous communication, as well as the emergence of new professions
and educational modalities; the use of the Internet that allows equal access to both
information and knowledge, considering it as a standard of communication.
Finally, I could say that all these benefits are due to the great advance of educational
technology that challenges us today and in the future that will be achievable if we rely on
ICT.
