Therefore, there are requirements in both areas: Networking – as a networking device the uCPE has similar characteristics of a router Virtualization – as compute device, the uCPE has similar characteristics of a compute node in a cloud computing environment Additionally, customers need MANO (management and orchestration) to automate and monitor an NFV network. We refer to this MANO as a “uCPE Manager”
