This document provides an assignment brief for a unit on sound design for computer games. The goal is for students to understand sound design in games and create sound assets following industry practice. Students will record ambient sounds, analyze sound design in game cutscenes, create a script and record dialogue, edit sounds using effects plugins, generate sound effects using VST instruments, and create a 2-minute audio cutscene for a Grand Theft Auto 5 mission expansion pack. The assignment aims to teach portable and studio recording, audio editing and post-production techniques to produce professional quality sound assets for computer games.
