Guidelines And Requirements To Establish School Of Nursing:
The following Organizations are eligible to Open a GNM School:
Central Government/Stat
Government/Local body
Registered Private or Public Trust
Organizations Registered under Societies Registration Act
The eligible Organizations should have 100 bedded own Parent Hospital.
The eligible Organizations should obtain Essentiality Certificate / No objection Certificate from the concerned State Government.
After obtaining NOC, the eligible institution should get recognition from the concerned State Nursing Council
The Indian Nursing Council would conduct statutory inspection of the recognized training nursing institution.
Physical infrastructure and facilities
Institutional records to be maintained in a school of nursing:
Admission record
Health record
Clinical and field experience record
Internal assessment record (Theory and practical)
Class attendance record
Mark lists (State Council/Board results)
Record of extracurricular activities
Leave record
Practical record book
Clinical facilities required for a nursing college
College of nursing should have a 100 bedded Parent Hospital.
Average Bed occupancy of the hospital should be minimum 75%.
The Nursing Staffing norms in the affiliated Hospital should be as per the INC norms.
Maximum distance between college of nursing and affiliated hospital should be 15-30 kms. But it can be up to 30-50 kms for tribal and hilly areas.
1:3 student patient ratio to be maintained.
For the sanctioning of 100 seats minimum 300 bedded Parent Hospital is mandatory.
