This paper introduces a user-defined privacy grid system (DGS) for location-based services (LBS) that operates with a semi-trusted third party to enhance user privacy while minimizing communication overhead. DGS uniquely allows users to define their query areas based on privacy levels without compromising data security or revealing exact locations to service providers. The system's architecture and mechanisms ensure it is efficient and extensible to various spatial queries, addressing limitations of existing privacy-preserving techniques in this domain.
