Mary Visits Elizabeth 39 At that time Mary got ready and hurried to a town in the hill country of Judea, 40 where she entered Zechariah’s home and greeted Elizabeth. 41 When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. 42 In a loud voice she exclaimed: “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you will bear! 43 But why am I so favored, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? 44 As soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy. 45 Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!”
- 3. Holy Spirit, Beloved of my Soul, Third Person of the Blessed Trinity, Proceeding from the Father and the Son, and equal to them in everything. I adore you, I praise you and I love you. Enlighten me, guide me, strengthen me and console me. Tell me what I should do. Give me your orders. I promise to submit myself to all that you desire of me. Let me only know you holy will. Give me Jesus’ Strength and your power to love and forgive as Jesus loves and forgives me. Help me to forgive and forget the wrong I have received. Grant me the Virtues of Faith, Hope and Charity. Fill me with your gifts of wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, the fear of the Lord, knowledge and piety. Increase in me your fruits of love, joy. Peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Help me to become Jesus’ faithful disciple and your obedient child by my daily life of fidelity. Help me to keep Jesus’ Great Commandments of love and forgiveness. Confirm me once again in my Christian vocation, that I may never be separated from you and Jesus and one day to be happy with you and all my loved ones in heaven for all eternity. AMEN
