- Fish production in Nepal has been gradually increasing annually, with aquaculture growing at 10% per year. A carp-SIS-prawn polyculture project from 2008-2011 aimed to improve nutrition, increase income, and empower women. It showed higher fish production and household consumption from adding SIS and prawn to carp culture. However, importing prawn seed was unsustainable.
