In Winforms we use the SqlGeospatialDataReader to load polygons and multipolygons that are stored in SQL geography fields into the RadMap control. Is there something similar for the Blazor Map control? If no, would you recommend loading these shapes into the Blazor version of the map control?

I see kendo Map UI demo like following and looking into source code, in there it's supporting events like "shapeMouseEnter", "shapeMouseLeave", etc.
https://demos.telerik.com/kendo-ui/html5-dashboard-sample-app

On shape mouse enter or leave, it's setting hover color on region. Also, on click on shape, it's also setting background color of shape as well as doing some data filter logic.

I am using Telerik Blazor, and my requirements are the same. I wanted to use shapeMouseEnter and shapeMouseLeave to highlight country. Also wanted to change its color when shape is clicked.

Can you guide me on how to achieve same behavior with Telerik Blazor component?

Hi Team,

is it possible to use a custom image inside the map control to place markers on?

Next to the world map, we would like to provide some detailed information for buildings and use the building layout to place markers inside rooms.

Thank you very much in advance!

Hi Team,

would it be possible to add Connection Lines between markers to the Map component?

The items we place on the map are network devices and it would be great, if we could add an array like double[][] to our items to automatically draw a line to this coordinates to show the connections of our network. It could either be an array of coordinates or a list of objects which are already part of the marker layers data.

Thank you very much in advance!

Best regards,

Alexander Schneider

Hi Team,

would it be possible to add Drag and Drop to the Map component?

We have already a lot of items in our application that we want to place on the map and it would be way easier if we could just drag them from a grid or listview onto the map and then save the retreived coordinates in the items and add them to the marker layers data.

Thank you very much in advance!

Best regards,

Alexander Schneider

Other providers seem to have the ability to allow shape files on their map components but I only see GeoJson examples on your map component. Do you have examples of how to display shape files on your map (shp, dbf, prj, sbn, sbx, shx) or is that not possible?

My requirements:

  • Ability for user to add shapes (rectangle, square, circle) or image to a map.
  • Ability for the user to move that shape around on a map (drag and drop).
  • Ability for the user to save all the placed shape geolocations.
  • Ability to read the saved shape geolocations and place them on the map.

I did a little research on your Map control and it does seem to support layers and a specific layer  type called "shape".  However, when I look at the code sample I don't see any way to define the shape (circle, rectangle, etc.) nor provide dimensions for the shape (L X W) nor have a bitmap/image as a shape?

I also didn't see any drag and drop support?

Could I get answers to these questions and/or point me to documentation that supports my requirements?

Cheers, Rob.

On the map component when zoomed in there are labels for points of interest (businesses/airports/hotels/restaurants/etc..)

Is it possible to capture these when a user clicks on an item? I know I can capture the lat/long of a click but can I get the details of the point of interest?

Hi;

I have an app that will have items that I want to put markers up for across the U.S. (and a few internationally). So say I have 50,000 of these items that need a marker - that's way too many.

So how do I approach this? When it is zoomed in, then it will have say 10 - 100 markers so are there events on each scroll and zoom and from that I then give it additional markers? That would work when zoomed in.

Then what is the best way to handle zooming out? Maybe figure out the 200 best matches and only show those?

thanks - dave
