Neighbour Cell List


There are no certain rules when to add a neighbour, so use common sense. Instead of adding many neighbours, it might be more beneficial to try to reduce the coverage area of the cell by other methods. While doing so, the need for neighbours will decrease and the interference situation might improve.

As new sites are brought into operation, the neighbour list must reviewed, as new neighbour relations are necessary and old neighbour relations can be removed. When neighbour relations are removed, the consequences should be verified such as statistics need to be monitor etc. Checking the neighboring list can generated by Genex Nastar. The analysis is simply based on checking the detected missing neighbour or unused neighbour events and thus the data collected depend on live Network data (CHR)
If such event has occurred, the analysis usually with help of MapInfo should focus on whether it is necessary and feasible to add or to remove, this neighbour to the neighboring cell list.

You can obtain the number of neighbours per cell by using the pivot function. Neighbour count is important. If 31 neighbours already, must check for unnecessary neighbours

Delete unused intra freq neighbours double confirm with MapInfo to ensure site to site distance is far Mapinfo check reveals 4km distance between the 2 sites so,

delete 707 (7033AU01) <> 791 (7000AU03)


- delete 707 (7033AU01) < > 790 (7000AU02)

Include highway and main roads on the mapinfo. If there is a main road or highway between the 2 sites, then this pair should not be deleted.

Conclusion
Neighbour Tuning is necessary to reduce the call drop Statistics need to be monitor closely, to ensure no degradation after added and removed neighbour list. It is beneficial to check manually the Genex Nastar result since the tool doesnt provide the distance. For the Network still On Going like DiGi, neighbour consistency check is highly recommended to check Biweekly basic.
