Double-Check Backflow Preventer
DESCRIPTION
The Cash Acme BFP is a double-check backflow preventer with an
intermediate vacuum breaker that is designed to prevent the backflow
of contaminated water into the potable water supply.
Cash Acmes BFP is designed for use on small supply lines and protects
against both backflow and back-siphonage into potable supply lines for
continuous pressure applications.
The Cash Acme BFP is designed for use at cross-connections when the danger
from backflow does not present a health hazard. It is ideally suited for boiler feed
lines, dairy processing systems, livestock drinking fountains, chlorinators, trap
primers and numerous other similar applications.
The BFP is available in a 1/2" and 3/4" sizes with threaded female union inlet and
outlet connections and 1/2" threaded female drain connection. It is suitable for hot
(up to 180F) or cold water under continuous pressure. And it is also suitable
up to 250F under non-continuous backflow conditions.

SPECIFICATION
A continuous pressure double-check backflow preventer shall be installed. The valve
shall be approved to ASSE Standard 1012 and be suitable for working pressures
up to 170 psi. The valve shall be a Cash Acme BFP Double-Check Backflow
Preventer.

TYPICAL INSTALLATION
The Cash Acme BFP is designed to discharge water under certain conditions.
To prevent the possibility of water damage it is recommended that it always be
fitted with a drain line. Always install the Cash Acme Type BFP in an easily
accessible location for maintenance purposes and so that it can be frequently
observed. The BFP should be located as close as possible to the fixture or
appliance being served; however, it should be located on the upstream side of
any boiler feed water pressure regulator for supply pressure considerations.
