Diễn giả 1 Welcome to the buzz where we talk about stories in the news. Diễn giả 2 Hi, Izzy. What's our first story for today? Diễn giả 1 Well, Mel, I just heard a piece about a guy in England who speaks 10 languages. He's on a speaking tour to promote his latest book. Diễn giả 2 10 languages that seems hard to. Believe where did you? Hear this story? Was it based on reliable sources? Diễn giả 1 There's no question that. It's true. I've read about him before in magazines and national newspapers, maybe. You saw the. Video of him after he learned Icelandic in a. Diễn giả 2 Week. No way. I'm not buying that at all. Icelandic is a really hard language to learn. Diễn giả 1 Well, maybe it's debatable to say he learned the language. Let's just say that he had learned. Enough to carry on a conversation in front of television cameras. Diễn giả 2 OK, but still a week seems pretty far fetched. There must have been some sort of. Diễn giả 1 Trick. No trick. He was able to do it because he has an amazing memory. He can also recite thousands of digits in the number ππ. Diễn giả 2 High. Isn't that just 3.1? Diễn giả 1 Four. Well, that's what you may have learned in school, but it actually goes on forever, 3.141592 and so on. This guy recited 22,514. Digits, he went on for more than five hours, all from memory. Diễn giả 2 Wow, that's incredible. Clearly, he's developed some techniques for expanding his memory. Diễn giả 1 Yeah, he has to have figured out some special way to do it. He says he's able to create individual pictures of everything in his mind. Diễn giả 2 Well, I was pretty skeptical at first, but maybe this story is true after all, what else has this guy done? Diễn giả 1 Let's see. He's made-up his own language. He's written three books. He started his own company. Shall I go? Diễn giả 2 On. No, it'll just depress me and make me feel as if I've accomplished nothing in my life. What other news stories have you been? Looking at this week.

Diễn giả 1 Hey Lorenzo, I got to tell you about this interesting show I saw last night on the Science Channel called Man made mysteries. Diễn giả 2 Ohh yeah, how was it? Diễn giả 1 Well, one mystery really got me thinking it was the mystery of the stone balls of Costa Rica. Diễn giả 2 Hmm. Never heard of them. What are they? Diễn giả 1 They're these stone balls, some small and some really large, like over 2 meters in diameter. Some weigh as much as 16. Guns. They were discovered back in the 1930s. Diễn giả 2 And they're sure they were. Man made. Diễn giả 1 Yeah, the show said they were clearly man made. They just don't know. Who, how or why? Diễn giả 2 Hmm, I'm not an expert, so I guess I'm going out on a limb here, but the stone balls could have just occurred naturally. Was there any explanation about why they thought the balls were man made? Sounds questionable to me, or at least unprovable. What do they think they might have? Diễn giả 1 Been used for the show? Didn't really say much about that kind of stuff. Diễn giả 2 Well, what do you? Diễn giả 1 Think they might have been used as part of a big building? I don't know. Diễn giả 2 It's possible or I wonder if they could have been used for some religious purpose. Diễn giả 1 Couldn't both explanations be true? They might have been part of a temple or Church of some. Diễn giả 2 Kind maybe. Or maybe they were part of some big. Diễn giả 1 Machine. I don't know. The people then might not have had the technology to build a machine. And what would that machine have been used for? Diễn giả 2 I'm not sure it's just an interesting idea. Diễn giả 1 Interesting. Yes. I'm not sure I buy it. Diễn giả 2 Though OK, not a machine. Then the stones might have fallen from space. Diễn giả 1 And landed only in Costa Rica. That's a little far fetched, don't you think? Diễn giả 2 Well, I suppose you're right, but I think it could have been possible. There must be a good explanation for them. Diễn giả 1 Maybe I need to watch that show again?
