Assignment

The document outlines a learning plan for a Grade 3 science lesson on the life cycles of butterflies, incorporating technology through interactive presentations and digital tools. Students will learn to identify the four stages of a butterfly's life cycle and explain metamorphosis, using apps and digital drawing for visual representation. The plan includes a live butterfly garden visit to enhance understanding through real-world observation.

Subject: Science

Grade: Grade 3

Topic: Life Cycles of Butterflies

Content: A learning plan for an elementary science lesson on "Life Cycles of Butterflies" could
integrate technology by using interactive digital presentations to show life cycle stages,
allowing students to explore virtual simulations of butterfly metamorphosis on tablets, and
creating digital portfolios to document their observations from a live butterfly garden visit using
photos and videos taken with mobile devices.

Learning Objectives .students will be able to identify the four

stages of a butterfly life cycle (egg, larva, pupa,
adult).

.students will explain the process of

metamorphosis using appropriate vocabulary.

.students will use digital tools to create a

visual representation of the butterfly life cycle.

Materials Interactive whiteboard or projector

Educational video on butterfly life cycle

Digital simulation of butterfly metamorphosis

(e.g., through an app like "Insect Life Cycle" or
a similar platform)

Digital drawing app (e.g., "Draw with Jazza",

"Sketchbook")

Live butterfly garden visit (if possible) or

pictures of butterflies in different stages

Introduction Teacher presents a captivating video on

butterfly life cycles on the interactive
whiteboard, asking students to identify key
stages.
Discuss prior knowledge about butterflies and
what they already know about their life cycle.

Application Students use the digital drawing app to create

a visual representation of the butterfly life
cycle, including all four stages.

They can add labels, colors, and details to

accurately depict the transformation process.

Students can take pictures of live butterflies

from a garden visit (if available) and
incorporate them into their digital drawings.

Research learning plan

Identify how technology being integrated in that subject areas

The technology being integrated here is interactive whiteboard or projector to present a vedio
related to the life cycle of butterflies and pictures that will be shown to the students to make it
easier to understand what the different life cycles of butterflies and if possible take those
students to the garden where there are butterflies and then explain the cycle of it so they can
see in real world scenario what it really looks like this can help students more understandable
in the life cycle of butterflies.
