Title EQUIPPING 21st CENTURY TEACHERS FOR THE NEW NORMAL

Rationale Pursuant with DepEd Order No. 032 s.2020, known as Guidelines on the Engagement of Services
of Learning Support Aides to Reinforce the Implementation of the Basic Education Learning Continuity
Plan in Time of COVID-19 Pandemic, states that amidst the public health emergency brought about by the
COVID-19 pandemic, DepEd is committed to ensure unhampered delivery of basic education services to its
learners and community. With this, Dr. Alcantara National High School aims to face and withstand the
different challenges and new expectations in the new normal.

Conducting action research, preparing strategic intervention materials for students at risk,
understanding the Homeroom Guidance implementation and battling mental health crisis will ensure that
Dr. Alcantara National High School will always be on the right track in bridging out the basic education
services among its clientele with today’s educational setting.
Equipping 21st Century Teachers for the New Normal is a 24-hour virtual training which
Program Description focuses on different aspects of facing and resisting difficulties and challenges of the new normal in
education.
This training and learning activity shall be taken place in the comfort and safety of all school
teaching personnel.

The terminal objective of this program is to equip and to aid teachers with various ways of
combatting today’s challenges in education.

Enabling objectives:
At the end of the program/session the participants will be able:
1. To identify the parts of action research and how to write them
2. To evaluate topics for action research
3. To develop research questions and to analyze research data
4. To craft strategic intervention materials for students at risk
5. To gain understanding about Homeroom Guidance
6. To de- mystify and de-stigmatize the issue of mental health problems
