HOW TO USE:
7. Close the valve on the pump and remove the vent hole plug.
8. Place the pump in a position with the end opposite the pump lower than the
pump.
9. Start pumping. The jack should start lifting with the first 3 or 4 strokes.
If you have, the correct jack seat height the gauge should start showing pressure
in seconds. If you have the jack seat too high, it will take a little longer.
11. Lube between top plate and nylon square weekly for best results; Chain oil is okay.
TROUBLE SHOOTING
NOTE:
All series V jacks are equipped with internal velocity check valves.
If the hose is cut or should break, the internal velocity valve will prevent the
jack from retracting. In order to remove the jack from the tree, a new hose
will have to be installed. After installing the new hose, pump the jack up un-
til it raises slightly then open valve #11 slowly and the jack will retract.
If valve #11 is opened too rapidly, the internal safety valve will close, not al-
lowing the jack to come down.
Close valve #11 slowly and jack will retract.
Any kind of foreign matter can cause pump failure (rust, dirt & saw dust).
Remove parts #11- #15, clean the ball seat with a clean cotton swab if available
(or by flushing).
Most of the time just dumping the balls #13 and #15 out and putting them back
in will solve the problem.
If the pump handle raises by itself, the problem is in check ball #15.
