The students, mostly boys enjoy using their

creativity to build castles or towers using legos.
Art Center, at the drawing table there are only six
seats and the children come in turns to draw and
work on their task.
Two students from the boys and the girls would
quietly go to the bathroom to wash their hands,
and when they come back they would take a towel
tissue and wipe their hands and throw it in the bin.
In the Art Center, six students are gathered in
front of the teacher and they would draw and

the Literacy Center.
Reciting the Quran alone.
Solving simple puzzles in the Games and Puzzles
Center.

1. How does the teacher make sure the students are prepared for the day?
The students have a morning routine, from the moment they go through that door they take
their name tag with their picture on it and mark it in as attendance on the board. That way the
teacher knew who are present in class and absent, she placed the students name tags in two
boxes the pink is for the girls and the blue is for the boys. Then the students head towards the
storage cabinet and place their bags then go to the Circle Time Center and get ready to start
class.
2. How many tasks do they complete in one hour?
They complete two tasks in one hour.

3. Did the teacher use a variety of different types of learning activities?

When taking the attendance, she would count the students who are present in class and
who are absent and let them repeat after her. Everyday she would pick a student to get up
and tap lightly at each students head using the clapping hands stick while counting how
many students are present loudly. In my previous observation, Miss Ebtihal taught them
the number 1 by air writing it, picking the number 1 in an envelope containing numbers
like 1 and 2 so they can recognize it and picking 1 toy from the plastic bag.
4. What materials did they use?
The materials the students used in the previous task is envelopes and small toys. They have and
in the Art Center, they use papers, Colored crayons.

5. Were the instructions, explanations and questions clear and appropriate for the students
needs? Give examples.
Yes, the tasks given by the teacher were very simple and clear. For the instructions, she
showed them first what they had to do and explained it to them in the simplest way possible.
When she taught them the number 1, she showed them how it looks like and how to air write
it.

6. What strategies did the teacher use to ensure the students understood what they are about
to do?
The teacher asked the children questions to make sure that they understood the task and also
observed them while they did it and tells them if its the correct way or not and if they had any
questions.

7. How does s/he make sure all students are involved and attentive?
Eye contact and observation, she roams around the classroom and watches which students are
working on their tasks or not and asks who needs help with anything.

8. What signals can you identify that the children have had enough?
By their body positions, they could be distracting the other students or running around the
classroom and finding something else to do.

9. What signals do children show that indicate they are proud of their achievement or
disappointed?

The proud children will be the ones that keep following us and show us their work and what they
have been doing, while on the other hand the disappointed ones will be in a corner and arent
participating or interacting with the other students and throwing their paper away.

10. How do children demonstrate their frustration?

They demonstrate it by hitting, kicking, shouting, distracting the other students.

11. Do the children observe others?

Yes, children do observe the other students and that helps to increase their motivation to
work harder and enjoy

12. Do the children interact with another child during the task?
Some of them are, but as I mentioned my 1st reflection that most KG1 students at their age are
engaged in parallel play, meaning they're playing next to each other but not with one another, and
they're interested in what the other children are doing.

13. What do they say or do while completing the tasks?

They inform us that theyre done with their work and keep following us and repeating
the words Look what I did. And you can notice just how excited and proud
they feel about themselves.
