A. PROGRAM / COURSE PROFILE


TITLE School LAC Session on Reading and Numeracy Preparation
Rationale This COVID-19 pandemic has formed the largest commotion of
education system, this disruption has had, and will continue to have,
considerable effects beyond education. Learning must not stop, it cannot
wait, it only requires unconquerable commitment amidst this crisis. In
line with these, it is mandated that teachers have to be always capacitated
just like the learning action cell to continuously improve the quality of
education learners deserved amidst this pandemic.
As stated on Deped Memorandum (DM) No.173 s 2019, the 3Bs
initiative, this mechanism is for the pupils to improve their reading and
numeracy habit amidst pandemic through the teacher’s effort by
continuously sharing their practice and learning with each other through
the learning action cell which was then also stipulated in the Deped Order
No. 35, s 2012.
Teachers should engage in collaborative learning sessions to solve
shared knowledge encountered specifically in reading and numeracy
program of the school.
This aims to identify learner’s difficulty so that teachers will
evaluate and assures learners progress.
Program/Course The School Learning Action Cell on Reading and Numeracy Preparation will serve as an
Description avenue for the participants to learn the strategies and methods on how pupils will improve
their reading and numeracy habit while at home.
