Part II: Reflection
CANDIDATE REFLECTIONS:
(Minimum of 3-4 sentences per question)
1. Briefly describe the field experience. What did you learn about technology facilitation and
leadership from completing this field experience?
This field experience proved to be all encompassing. I was able to incorporate the ADDIE model
and universal design principles to create a multimedia project for both educators and students. It
was very important to understand and facilitate the use of the Georgia Standards of Excellence in
Science and English Language Arts. In addition, the ISTE standards for students and instructional
coaches.
As a current technology coach, I learned the importance of planning, communication, and time.
This project required great diligence in planning, project creation and curation, and knowledge of
teaching and learning standards. Most importantly the project required a great deal of planning
with teachers and students to make the project worthwhile for student learning.
2. How did this learning relate to the knowledge (what must you know), skills (what must you
be able to do) and dispositions (attitudes, beliefs, enthusiasm) required of a technology
facilitator or technology leader? (Refer to the standards you selected in Part I. Use the
language of the PSC standards in your answer and reflect on all 3—knowledge, skills, and
dispositions.)
Knowledge: Technology facilitators and coaches must have basic knowledge of how to design a
website and effectively integrate rigorous content within the website. Individuals must have prior
knowledge on Georgia Standards of Excellence and National Technology standards to effectively
implement and create the content.
Skill: Individuals must be able to effectively work on a project over a long duration of time. In
addition, effective communication and time management skills are needed to facilitate this project
with educators.
Dispositions: Technology facilitators and leaders must be positive, flexible, and patient.
Technology equipment and lessons don’t always go as planned. Leaders must remain positive and
encouraging for others to complete and interact with the website.
3. Describe how this field experience impacted school improvement, faculty development or
student learning at your school. How can the impact be assessed?
The impact of this field experience was experience by both second and third grade students. The
students were highly engaged and involved in the webquest activities. As a result of facilitating
this project in a second grade classroom my hope is that the teacher will share the material with
other teachers in the school building. In the long run this webquest will support student learning
and standards in a fun and engaging way. In addition, this will support the school’s efforts to
continuously incorporate activities that enhance their personalized learning model. This model
will be assessed by feedback received on the student and teacher evaluation form.
